OUR HISTORY
In 1963, Gino Bucciarelli established a company whose main activity was mill packs trade.. Times were hard but offered the prospects for development and allowed the company to assert itself in the local market.
In 1980 expansion continued and with the help of his children, Sauro and Patrizia, it became a family business. Francesca, the founder’s wife, also contributed.
In 1985 the company moved to a new plant in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa in the province of Florence, where the operations were converted from trading to industrial. It was a delicate and intensive transition but necessary. Times were changing, and the company had to follow the market which was demanding products in bands and sheets cut to size. They equipped the company with roll cutting lines, becoming a complete “steel service centre”. The years that followed saw a rapid growth and the need for larger premises.
In 2000 the company relocated to its present premises of Castellina Scalo in the province of Siena. This new 70.000 sqm site was designed to create a very modern service centre, with state-of-the-art technology plants, an optimized layout and its own railway yard to minimize transport costs.
Since 2005, four members of the third generation of Bucciarelli family have joined the company, bringing the same degree of devotion, to continuing the family tradition in the steel sector.
Siderurgica Fiorentina is a key steel service centre for the Italian market. In our 50 year history we have established ourselves at a national level, becoming a point of reference in the sector. We are located in central Italy, in Tuscany, between Florence and Siena, a logistically favourable position for distribution throughout the country.
The present plant is advanced in terms of both technology and operating methods. Every step is controlled, tracked and certified to offer a product and service that meets very high quality standards.
There has been repeated investment in the company, extending the plant and infrastructure, creating a 35.000 sqm industrial roofed complex in an area of 80.000 sqm. The production plant has its own railway yard to speed up unloading operations and reduce transport costs
The raw material par excellence: everything pivots around this material. Our company has been collaborating for many years with the major European steelworks, securing continuity and reliability in supplies. Our procurement capability on the international market, makes it possible to obtain a winning combination of price and quality.
Over the years we have tested world-produced materials, to find the right quality at the best price. Our company has a warehouse for about 10.000 tons of steel coils, ensuring meeting short-term demands as well as fulfilling other commitments .
Today Siderurgica Fiorentina represents a major point and an invaluable partner for all companies in the sector. Our client portfolio includes the major industrial companies of our country.
